Robert Jeffery and David Morris
are both lifetime, third-generation farmers
in Derbyshire who diversified into a
consultancy, designed to provide a helping
hand to those who wish to move to the
country and own some land.
Having formed the company NewLandOwner
Management Services Ltd. in April 2000, they
now operate throughout the UK, with
occasional work abroad.
Robert Jeffery
Robert farms Aston House farm, where his
family have been since 1920. Having been an
intensive milk and cereals farm, the
successful conversion to Organic beef and
cereals was made in 1998/9 and Robert has
found organic farming to be remarkably
satisfying and very rewarding. He produces
Prime Longhorn Organic Beef, much of which
is sold from the farm. He treats his animals
with respect and they respond with contented
good health.
His wheat and beans, which thrive on the
manure from the beef herd, are grown
specifically to produce seed for other
organic farmers to grow. Everything produced
on the farm is absolutely top of the range,
commanding the best possible prices. Robert
runs his farm on a part time basis,
utilising the services of some excellent
contractor friends to get the work done when
he is busy with NewLandOwner.
David Morris
David, another ex dairy farmer, now devotes
his time to NewLandOwner, whilst utilising
contractors to farm his land. David is a
mine of information on everything to do with
the countryside, be it crops, livestock or
countryside management.
More recently he has become an expert in
matters relating to rural planning and the
acquisition of planning consent for farm
buildings and dwellings. David always
has a solution, whatever the problem!
