Peter's Eden is known to
listeners to Radio Lincolnshire as a new and
exciting venture into smallholding by the
Blevins family.
Peter's untimely death left
Elizabeth, their daughter Hannah, husband
Christopher and their growing family with a
mission to fulfil Peter's dream to grow
things for the table and live a rewarding,
healthy and stress free, rural existence.
They all
came on a
NewLandOwner
"Getting
Started" weekend and charmed us all into
buying pots and pots of Elizabeth's
delightful chutneys and pickles. We knew
then that they were destined to be
successful in their mission.
Getting the project going
Eventually we were asked to inspect a
desolate piece of land in Lincolnshire!
Desolate but with potential. It was good
soil, just overworked! They found a house
not far away, we provided a Management Plan
and they set about getting their farming
project
going, with determination and a will
to succeed.
Having taken on board our lesson that the
only way to profit is through selling direct
to the public, they got themselves on local
radio, TV and in the press. Their produce is
known throughout the county and all for
free! They have what it takes - initiative,
enthusiasm and determination.
They are also building an ideal environment
in which Peter's grandchildren can thrive,
testing themselves, whilst remaining in the
safety of parental supervision. What better
place for children to grow up?
